This probably isn’t a big newsflash since it’s been in the headlines for awhile and chances are, you’re living in a household with a female “recycling enforcer” (I proudly wear that hat in my household!).

But there might be a few things you didn’t know about women and the environment, including these great tidbits you should keep top-of-mind as you’re thinking about product development and marketing initiatives:

  • Women are more likely than men to buy eco-oriented or recyclable products. And women are willing to pay more for these eco-friendly product. Opportunity: about half of women say they want more green choices!
  • Women respond more positively to environmentally friendly advertising.
  • Environmentally conscious fashion design is a major trend, driven by women.
  • Women decision makers in business are more environmentally-conscious than men.

It’s time for those New Year’s Resolutions again. With women worrying about the environment and making more eco-conscious choices, it’s no wonder that they are also more likely to make New Year’s Resolutions that take Mother Nature into consideration.
